Description:
The Buddha said that each person must be a lamp unto themselves. Bringing forth the light of our Being ~ our Highest Self ~ can be a challenge since each of us have two energies within us, our humanity and our divinity. These energies are our two constant inner companions. The part of us that is identified with our humanity is often caught up in the complexities of the world and often has a sense of separation and focus on ourselves. In our human capacity we experience sometimes unpleasant qualities that we would rather tame. The part of us that is aware of our divinity experiences deep peace, a sense of being one with all of life, and is aligned with the mind of God. So, the question becomes: "How do we tame the tendency to feel separate from everyone else, tame the need to conquer, win, and acquire in order to feel good about ourselves? How do we learn to listen to the voice of our Highest Self inviting us to peace?
